The easiest way to get from Sofia and Blagoevgrad to Pirin is by bus. From Sofia busses may be taken from the bus station "Novotel Evropa" (besides Princess hotel and against the Central Railroad Station) or from "Ovcha kupel" bus station. The directions are Bansko-Dobriniste-Goce Delchev for the northern slopes and Sandanski-Melnik for the southern. There are busses in the morning (8:30 from "Novotel Evropa", 7:00 from"Ovcha kupel") and around noon (13:00, 14:00, 14:30 form "Ovcha kupel"). The price of the ticket is 6-7lv. The travel is 3-3,30 hours long. From Bansko you can take a van to Bunderitca hut (departs at 8:30, 14:00 and 16:00 form the bus station). The price is 2lv. Taxies are more expensive (at least 12-15lv). cc

If you are about to travel by car, you must leave Sofia and head for Blagoevgrad. You must travel along route E79 until you reach Simitli. Then you should take the route for Bansko and Goce Delchev. From Bansko you may go with car to Shiligarnika (Bansko ski centre) or Bunderitca(14km) and Vihren(17km) huts. If you are about to travel in the winter you must have in mind that this road (Bansko-Shiligarnika) is very difficult.
